About MaxLoader
MaxLoader plans road freight loads against United States and European Union weight limits.
Purpose
From a cargo list and a selected vehicle, MaxLoader determines how the cargo fits, where it should be positioned, the load on each axle, and whether each applicable limit is met: the gross vehicle weight, each axle, each axle group, the bridge formula in the United States, and the dimensions of the vehicle. Each check identifies the provision from which its limit is taken. Where the whole consignment cannot be carried in compliance with the limits, MaxLoader states how much can be carried, which items remain and the reason.
It is intended for those who plan loads in the course of their work, including shippers, dispatchers, warehouse staff and drivers, so that compliance can be established before a vehicle is loaded.
Sources of the figures
Each limit is transcribed from the law: 23 CFR part 658 and 23 U.S.C. 127 in the United States, and Annex I to Directive 96/53/EC in the European Union. Each is recorded with its citation, and the planner, the load sheet and the guides all take their figures from that record.
The figures are compared with the published regulations automatically each day. The United States figures were last verified on November 1, 2026, and the European Union figures on November 1, 2026. A figure that changes in the law is amended only after the change has been confirmed by a second reading and has passed every check, and each amendment is recorded together with the wording of the provision that supports it.
Limitations
MaxLoader is a planning tool and does not provide legal advice. It checks the federal and European limits it identifies, for static loads on level ground. It does not check State limits outside the Interstate System, national limits within a Member State, permits, load securement or the posted limit of a particular bridge. The weights recorded on a certified scale are authoritative.
